Rough Aluminum Intake Manifold - What Type of Cleaner Recommended ?

Looking for suggestions on what to use to clean my intake manifold on my boat. The intake manifold is not the polished type, it is the rough aluminum.

1. I've spot cleaned oil, grease, air filter oil, etc., with brake cleaner on my BMW's brushed aluminum motorcycle engine block. Works fine but doesn't really polish it up bright. Evaporates fast and gets a lot off.



2. Wire brush and Kerosene gets brushed aluminum clean and shines some too. BMW R75/5, engine block and valve covers. Not sure if that's practical for your purposes and situation. That's my 2 cents.

Oh yeah, Rolite, available from TOL, is also another aluminum polish
