Paint Ph.D
Okay...summer is coming on and I'm dreaming about what to do to the Santa Fe to get her looking top-notch. The black is peeling off the rubber wheel well liners so I'm going to blast off what's left and re-spray with a matte black spray paint. Also, my rotors have rusted where the wheels meet up so it doesn't look good. Rust with clean silver alloy...:(

I recall somebody here touched that up although I don't remember how. Something about sanding the rust off and spray painting silver to make them look good again.

Any tips? :thanks

Edit: This is what I'm talking about if you look beyond the spokes, you'll see the hub of the wheel itself is silver but the part of the rotor that mates with it is an ugly rusted color.

:cool:just ride the brakes for 5 miles.....that oughta do it:rockon Oh now you have a pic. Remove wheel sand rust off, tape rotor and spray with a hi-heat flat black

Thank you, sir. I may wind up making a project out of it and remove the rotors to make sure I don't get any paint on the pads or calipers where I don't want it. I could also wait until it needs pads which is bound to be fairly soon. These pads have 40,000 miles on them.
