Hey guys,
I picked up my brother in laws car the other day to give it a good polish before they sell it. The car is a 1997 Saturn, with lots of plastic body panels. After wash and clay (took way too long.... so much contamination), its was time to find out what was going to the polish of choice. Tried out a couple of combos via PC and nothing was doing much. However Hi-Temps Extreme Cut, Optimum Polish and an orange LC pad on my Hitachi seems to clean up the paint nicely and leaves a nice shine. Between the wash and clay I only had energy to do part of the hood, (I'm getting over pneumonia, so I'm taking it real easy still)
So, how many of you use a rotary on plastic consistently? What do I watch for? Should I knock down the speed? (Usually just under 3 on the Hitachi is the highest setting I use) I usually go for the PC on bumpers and such, but there is no way I'm going to have the energy to do all the bumpers, door panels, fenders etc... that are plastic. Convince me that a rotary on plastic isn't as intimidating as I think it is. :bolt
Note that anyone watching me use a rotary would probably consider me somewhat competent but not terribly talented
Thanks
