Thanks...

I only did it twice... once the major defects are gone, my orbital does the rest for maintenance (light polishing and waxing or cleaner)...

I never used a compound on the car.

Once in a while, I use my W9000 Finishing Pad when I use a light polish.

amazing. plus, you've got no orange peel in your paint. did it come that smooth or did you wetsand it?

Thanks guys...

The hood had to be wetsanded coz last year, it was splattered by cement specs, paint and metal primer and other stuff that clay couldn't touch... Our office parking was beside 3 condo contruction sites and it rained for like 3 weeks straight, so I didn't notice how bad the stuff was on the paint.

I wetsanded the hood with 2500 grit wet/dry sandpaper... followed up with DACP.

DACP was used with a W7000 red cutting pad running at speed 1.5 (on the Makita) for the roof, trunk and hood. The sides were hit with DACP + 3M Waffle polishing pad at 1.8 to 2 setting.

It was waaay easier than using an orbital...

I had great results using 3M Show Car wax (paste) and Eagle One WET wax before... the depth seems to be a lot clearer with the 3M wax than #26... Though #26 lasts about 2-3x longer...

Finally, a sunny day (well for about an hour then it started to drizzle again)... a week after the rotary job... last washed 12 hrs ago... Had to go to the office on a Saturday...

I like this pic (taken from my office window up 26 floors high)... I like how the gloss and depth compares to the other cars, especially with the maroon civic behind me (that's at least 4 years newer than mine), and the Sentra in front of me (about the same age)

The paint on your Corolla is awesome! My 3 year old Corolla doesn't even look that good. I'm afraid to use a rotary.

As that a pic of you little helper in your Avatar? Your daughter I assume? She's a cutie! Oh, its a nice, shiny car also.

PAW: Actually, she's my niece... She likes spraying QD... go figure hehe... I'll get her working on an orbital when she turns 5 haha.
