Rotary + Dirrect Sun?

I've been using the Poorboy's SSR line with my PC for a while now. I do a number of details on hot days in direct sunlight. I've had no problems with this combo so far.



I would like to step up to the rotary now for these details and for other work as well. I haven't seen anything mentioned on it really, but I was wondering if there would be problems with this since the rotary heats up the paint.



would I still be able to do full-sun details with the rotary? Maybe the speed would have to be stepped down a bit but I don't know. Any info is appreciated!
 
I'm a newwbie and I'm not sure I'm anwering this correctly but hey i might be some help..I wax/polish/wash my car in a garage but I'm a fireifghter so we all do that..Now here is my help.. I have a high speed buffer but have a 3-M pad that i use it's has a waffle texture that's there to cut down on heat. now not knowing what type of heat is produced with a full pad I can't tell you the differance..

This is yet another reason why the rotary is so hard to *master*. The obivous problem here isn't the sunlight, it's the extra heat the sunlight produces. That being said, it's the heat that gives the rotary the ability to do it's job so the added heat from the sun just means less effort required from the rotary. You can still use the same products in the same manner, just slow the rotary down a bit and don't buff an area quite as long as you would if you were dealing with a cold surface. Practice makes perfect.
