Rotary Buffing the correct way??

Hello everyone,

I've been using the rotary for along time now, and was wondering if i have been missing a step. I start with the wool pad and usually finish with the PC. In between the wool and the PC should i use a foam pad on the rotary? I just painted a tailgate for my truck, i used PPG DBU paint & PPG clear, wet sanded with 1500 to get rid of a few dirt nibs. Got out the wool pad and Presta Ultra compound, i still see some fine sand scratch's. Please let me know the correct way to do this. What is everyone's favorite Heavy Compound and medium Compound?

Thanks,

you will probably get a lot of people that say to start with meguires m105 w/ the wool pad. so try that first. the rotary has for superior correcting ability than the PC, so stick a white pad on your rotary and put your favorite finishing polish (m205, 106ff, 106fa, po83rd,) work your finish like a pyramid. start my spreading the polish at speed 1, then do one whole pass at speed 2, break the polish down at speed 3 with light pressure, then go back to speed 2 to burnish the paint a bit.
