So after 2-3 years of doing it as a hobby, I finally decided to try it if it works out as a business. One of the first customers being Matt. I get a text from him, and after we agree on the package and price, we setup a time so I could pick his M3 up.

The car had recently been on the track so it had a good amount of bugs, brake dust, and all kinds of crap on the paint. Other than that, she was in a great shape, just a bit dusty inside out due to the track day.

So As I got the car, I took some initial picture of it, to see what was going on.

Not in best looking shape.

img0345xa.jpg

Lots of water spots, a tonne of bugs, and the paint just felt like sand paper.

img0346zj.jpg

Caked brake dust, especially on the inside of the wheels.

Rears weren't as bad, just normal brake dust.

Exhaust sounded nice, but sure didn't look nice.

Here is what was done prior to being jewelled and protected:

Pre-soaked with bug and tar remover.

Pressure washed.

Washed using 2bucket system.

Pressure washed again, then dried.

Clayed with Aggressive Clay bar+ONR Clay Lube strength.

Sonax Wheel cleaner used for the wheels, rinsed, and clayed.

Exhaust tips and canisters cleaned, and then clayed.

Rinsed again and dried.

Menzerna PO115C Applied with applicator pad.

Menzerna PowerLock applied with hand.

AutoGlym HD applied with hand.

Whole car wiped down with glass cleaner.

Interior Leather cleaned and conditoned with Leatherique Products.

Every plastic trim from the engine bay, exterior, interior, trunk, etc were cleaned with OPC then conditoned with Aerospace 303.

Since the body was a bit warm, I let it cool off and started working on the exhaust. The tips and canisters were polished with 00,000, and 0000 grit Steel wool+Mothers Metal polish.

Then I started with applying Menzerna PO11C to the body since I wasn't doing any paint correction on this one, but still needed some extra shine. This was right after I applied ther glaze.

Eventhough, I didn't want to unbolt anything from the car, I couldn't resist taking off the license plate, because I knew what I would find.

She is waiting to be picked up now.

Total time was approximately 5-6 hours may be. Could be faster once i get my own garage in the coming week.

@Autopia, as a noob in the business, I would love to get some tips and suggestions on how to make my work better and make the customers happier. Will be correcting the paint on my own TSX soon so will post those up.

I might have some pictures of my s2000 that i wetsanded upto 4000grit then compounded it, will make a thread about that too, if I have enough detailed pictures.

Comments and suggestions welcome :)
