Customer agreed to a trip charge plus tipped me $100. :)

Filled up the tank-gas is now 6 cents less as of today.

1:59? Challenge accepted. Took me 1:52.

Getting them washed, interiors cleaned, wheels/wheel wells done took most of the morning.

Quick lunch break, went to Reggie's, which was right near my customer's house. Pretty legit burgers, sort of like Mooyah or Which Wich in that they only put on it what you want. Got mine with bacon, pepperjack cheese and a fried egg.

On to the polishing! The CTS was pretty bad, right side had been hit and refinished. Lots of swirls but the clear coat wasn't particularly hard.

After Meguiars M100, Meguiars MF cutting pad and Rupes 21 DA

Before

Some compounding haze...

SRX had some light bird bomb etching and other weirdness in the hood

Compounded

Not much swirling in the SRX, pardon the compounding dust

Came out pretty good

Managed to get the cars compounded, polished and Opti-Seal applied before it got too dark for pictures, still had to redo jambs, glass in and out, condition the leather and go back over the cars to make sure I didn't miss anything, ended up finishing about 7 pm or so.

Full process:

ONR wash
Optimum Clay Towel
Meguiars M100 using a Meguiars microfiber cutting pad and Rupes DA
Rupes Keramik Gloss using an Optimum orange foam waffle cutting pad and Rupes
Opti-Seal
Armor All on wheels and wheel wells

Right at dusk when I got the pics of the SRX...

For good measure, here is a 2009 Ford Escape I did today, this one was only a 7 mile round trip!

Owner just wanted a basic (1 polishing step) full detail. They bought it used, it was originally owned by a paramedic unit in a small town until they realized it was too small for something like that. Very low miles but enough scratches in the paint that anything more than bring some shine back was pointless.

ONR wash
Optimum Clay Towel
Optimum Hyper Polish using an Optimum orange foam waffle cutting pad and Rupes DA
Opti-Seal
3D Trim Protectant on exterior trim
Armor All on tires/wheel wells

Although it's not a horrid drive I'm sure the trip back to Big D from Tyler was a rough one after such a long day. The Caddies look awesome and the owner made it worthwhile (for a change).

Nice job on the cars, Was the clear on the Caddy super hard? Love freshly polished black.

BTW, you made me hungry with the burger shot. Gotta go eat now, thanks :)

Road trip for Black cars, you are the man! Turned out nice! Reggie's looks tasty! Nice work as always guys!

Thanks everyone, I appreciate it!

The paint wasn't particularly hard so compounding the CTS went quicker than I was expecting. At first I was thinking I'd have to find a hotel to spend the night at and finish the next day.

And its back to just me doing the work. My son, who helped me occasionally, has moved out of state to finish school.
