Ringing in...

Greetings all, ringing in from Northeast Sunny FL, posted a message the other day, but it still hadnt gone through, so I am hoping that I can get one soon through. I am entirely new to the world of detailing to the extreme and am about to purchase my first new vehicle and want to make sure it stays nice for years to come. It will be an outside always car, so detailing in a garage is out. Need to find products which will allow me to do this. Pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome. The search engine will be your best friend. There are several products that will allow you to work outside. If you rent, ONR is good if you don't have access to a hose. Gloss-it products work well, even in direct sunlight (providing that the surface is not too hot), and there are also others. Just search around, look in on some threads and you will learn about the wealth of information from many people.

The only conflict that I have found is that where I live I do have access to a hose, but it is also in direct sunlight, so I just wanted to make sure that it wouldnt be an issue. My presumption is that I could just start early in the morning and go from there.

Everything seems very subjective on this forum as expected and its hard to tell what really "is" a good product and what is just overrhyped. One of the biggest things I have been trying to figure out is if I should put something on tan leather to seal it or protect it. I read a forum about how someone got jean stain on their tan leather seats and it had me thinking, so I searched tan leather on forum and some people said to use products while others tended to say to stay away from things as they can dry out the leather and ruin it faster.

I really look forward to any insight that can be given. Believe me, I have been searching, just cant seem to come to comclusive forums that mirror the situation I am in.
