I was wondering how to get these black spots off my stock rims on my 03 Dakota. I belive they are painted aluminum (sorry cant spell to save my life.) I use soap and water to wash them and gets most of the dirt off. but them $##$*% black spots drive me mad.

also side note. I was planning on buying zanio products to start detailing my truck. what would you recomend. also is there a site on here that lists what all the different pads and so on y ou all refer too but I cant decifer that lingo. want to make my truck look the best it possibly can.

thank you in advance

Pictures my friend, need pictures. Anyways, it could be that the brake dust has etched into the paint, or clearcoat, depending on how the wheel is finished. Try a strong wheel cleaner like Top of the Line's Wheel Wash or Hi-Temp's wheel cleaner. You could also try clay if the wheel is clearcoated.

If you're looking for something Over the Counter, Eagle One's A2Z wheel cleaner works well. Might want to spend a few bucks on that before ordering something online.

dont mind the plastic bag on the driver seat. I work in a greasy plant. I didnt spend 20 grand to get the seats greasy.

Use EO Wheel Acid or Pooboys SnR wheel cleaner. Also get a bag of the #000 Steel wool at Home Depot. Those 3 things I mentioned should take care of those blackhead out with a breeze :woohoo:

thanks for all the input. I will tr the claying. then the stoners. will the stones tar and bug remover work as well as that tarminator. kinda hesitant on using the steel wool on my rims. I know thats a fine wool. but afraid I will have scratched up rims. but if the other stuff dont work. I will try on a lil spot on the lip of the rim. again thanks for the advice..
