riddle me this...

I have a client who's paint seems to be failing from the primer out. I can still see that it has a clear, but the color seems to be disappearing literally. This is spreading like cancer it is on several different spots. BTW it is a 2006 Toyota Land Cruiser.

That looks like its a painting problem...meaning the primer was applied to a contaminated metal....but based on the pics it sort of hard to really tell

He bought the car with less than 500 miles on it, and it is the white color that seems to be the only part affected.

It's really hard to get a clear pic of this, might sound wierd but try looking at your computor screen at different angles

factories often have paint problems and do spot work to correct...it is totally possible that the paint machines were having a bad day ... otherwise check all the edges of panels for any sign of repainting

no on the repaint, I think I remember reading a thread stating someting about Toyota's and how some of them are repainted before they even get to the dealership for the first time.

I think all mfg have problems here and there ..the robotics painting them have their share of problems ..i know for a fact that Ford does a lot of repainting in the factory.assout:

To me it looks like someone sprayed the around with an aresol substance. The dark colored part is an add on at the factory?? Or possibly the start up of the paint machine for the time and cleaning solution wasnt all flushed through the system. Just guessing though.
