How I used (as per instructions): I washed the towel before use with my other MF towels. I washed a couple vehicles using Poorboy's Super Slick & Suds wash and others with Top of the Line's Bubble Bath. I then rinsed (without flooding the surface/sheeting water) leaving either beads or pools of water. The vehicles I washed had variations of sealant to carnauba to no protection at all.
I placed the towel on the surface unfolded and let sit for 2 minutes (I feel this helps get the towel primed and sucks up more water). I then folded the towel three times and began to go over the surface lightly. I completed half a panel, flipped the towel, and wiped clean. No induced marring and no left over streaks.
Overall Thoughts: The pockets in the towel are designed to be used as handles so the towel doesn't touch the ground. Cool concept, yes, however, when I am washing vehicles, time is a bigger matter for me. Therefore I fold it 3 times. With this towel compared to others, I found that it created a thicker padding between my hand and the vehicle's surface due to the extra material. With this, the pressure I apply is better spread out, reducing the risk of drying-induced marring. Also, with the extra waffle weave material, it allows more water to be sucked up before wringing it out. The only vehicle I had to ring out the towel for was an unprotected Pathfinder in which the water pooled on the roof (1/2" of water in grooves). Again, this helped save time.
Other Notes: Fiber-Works suggests washing the towels before using.
