I received the Wolfgang Pad Werks Polishing Pad Cleaner in a Flex Kompakt kit I bought a while back and after using it I felt compelled to do a review.

Description (from ACC):
Wolfgang Concours Series provides exceptional car care by combining precise engineering with the latest advancements in car care science. Wolfgang Pad Werks Polishing Pad Cleaner will safely and gently clean all styles of polishing pads: wool, microfiber, and foam. Perfectly clean pads perform more effectively, which is why Wolfgang Pad Werks is engineered to provide exceptional cleaning performance.

Wolfgang Pad Werks Polishing Pad Cleaner breaks up and releases caked on polish and wax residue from all pads. Clean polishing pads produce better, more precise results. Polish residues, abraded paint, silicone, and caked on wax will negatively impact performance. Wolfgang Pad Werks Polishing Pad Cleaner quickly breaks down these residues then rinses completely clean. The end result of careful engineering is a product that cleans your pads quickly, easily, and more effectively.

Apply Wolfgang Pad Werks Polishing Pad Cleaner to the face of the polishing pad. Allow the advanced formula to penetrate for 1 to 2 minutes. Agitate with a Pad Conditioning Brush if needed. Massage pad to work the cleaner deep into the pad's surface. Flush residue completely out of the pad using running water or a bucket. Wring pad to remove excess water and allow to dry face down.

Do not leave perfect results to chance. Wolfgang Pad Werks Polishing Pad Cleaner is engineered to provide you with clean pads that will create dazzling results.

The dirty pad compared to a clean pad (water dripped on it, doh!):

Clean, warm water ready:

Spraying onto the pad:

Surprisingly it only took two or three sprays to be covered and the product kind of smells like windex.

After letting it sit for about two minutes I dipped it into the warm water and began massaging the pad.

It started removing the polish quickly!

And it is clean.

Conclusion:
First off, I'd like to say I was a bit hard headed when I first received Wolfgang Pad Werks Cleaner. I remember thinking, "oh it won't replace my good ole APC+". Well I have to say I was totally wrong. When I used Wolfgang Pad Werks Cleaner for the first time last night and I was amazed how well it works. Usually I have to clean my pad 2-3 times with APC+ to get it fully cleaned and with just three sprays and a rinse it is clean. I highly recommend this product to anyone and will definitely be buying a gallon in the future.

I bought this as my first ever pad cleaner with my first polisher and pad set. After using it, i couldnt understand why people talk about it being difficult to clean pads. This stuff makes it too easy.

It really does. I wish I would of bought it sooner.

Good review! Nice close up photo too. Pad cleaners are the only way to go. I'll never go back to using Dawn or an APC to clean spent pads ever again :)

I've been using the Blackfire version of this for over a year. Before that I used Dawn. The pad cleaner certainly makes it easier to deep clean your pads. I wonder if there is any real difference between pad cleaners or is it just different bottles?

Thank you! I definitely won't be going back either.

I was wondering if there was any difference as well. The price for the BF and WG is the same.

The CG Pad cleaner is very effective also and at a nice price also. It is a concentrate so ends up being a much better deal

I recently used Four Star Ultimate Paint Protection and had a helluva time getting the product out of the pad (I tried Dawn & OPC) . I seem to recall reports of similar issues with BFWD when it was the hot sealant.

Anyone have success removing Four Star or BFWD using one of these pad cleaning products?

I don't have any experience with BFWD, but I have had problems removing WG Paint Sealant from pads. The next time I use it I can see how this does at removing it.

I have a bottle of 4S UPP that I'm planning on using soon/ posting a review on. I'll make sure to keep your question in mind for when it comes time to clean the applicator pad.

I thought the Four Star UPP was a great product. Easy to apply, even easier to remove. I've dedicated that particular pad to the Four Star UPP, and if that's the only downfall, I'm okay with that.

I'll be interested to see if the pad cleaner has better results than the Dawn or OPC I tried.

I was the exact same way haha. I am using the same pad cleaner and I love it. I also have snappy clean pad cleaner that works good too but I think this stuff works even better.

Just review Scott. For my pads with BFWD on them, I just put them in a zip lock and dedicate that pad to BFWD. I found its not worth the effort to get it out and the pad was never totally clean.
