I recently took advantage of Autopia Car Care's generous offer of free samples of their new products, including SONÃœS TOTAL ECLIPSE Multi-Surface SPF 40 UV Protection.
I followed the instructions and applied this product on three vehicles ranging from a 1998 Mercury to a 2002 Lexus. Application was simple and very similar across vehicles. Wipe on...Wait a few minutes and wipe off. The finish is very pleasing. Not flat matte, but very close. It leaves behind an even, rich, slight "glow" to the dash. It leaves hard black plastic looking factory fresh...And speaking of fresh, the smell is faint and clean, with no overpowering scent. I also tried it on exterior rubber and plastic trim with similar results.
I really can't judge the SPF factor, but if there is some sort of sunscreen, then this is definitely the product for you.
It finishes better than Vinylex or #40, smells way better than 303 and repels dust as well as 1Z.
SONÃœS TOTAL ECLIPSE is water based. It contains no petroleum solvents and it's thin, so don't spray directly onto the surface you want to treat. I sprayed it onto a foam applicator and wiped it on.
