Recently Juan at Turbo Wax sent me some products to test and review, so here we go! I have not had a chance to try out the interior products he sent me yet, but here’s a quick run through of the following products:
Turbo Wax Swirl Remover
Turbo Wax Car Wax with Polycharger
Turbo Wax Tire and Trim dressing
Turbo Wax Wheel Cleaner
I started out with an ONR wash or my wife’s 2007 Mazda 3 Sport. I polish and wax this car regularly but it is a daily driver, so it gets swirls, scratches, and super filthy on a regular basis. Here she is before the wash:
Wheels prior to cleaning:
Wheels after cleaning. I sprayed the wheel cleaner directly onto the wheel and let it dwell about 1 minute before agitating with a BHB. After rinsing the wheels were noticeably cleaner and brighter. Really nice product.
Next I decided to go with the Swirl remover. First of all, the smell was a little ‘chemically, but other than that had a good consistency. I started out with a 5 inch Orange cutting pad on my PCXP. I completely primed the pad, then added about 3 nickel size drops per panel. Here is a panel that I polished with one section pass, then the rest of the door that is not polished
Unpolished Section:
Polished section, there was a deep scratch that needed heavy compound, but I wasn’t doing a full correction here:
Here is the completed car. I just did an ONR wash, wheel cleaner, swirl remover, wax with polycharger, and the tire dressing. I had to switch to a different tire dressing due to the tires on the mazda being fairly dirty. They were not taking the Turbo Wax dressing with as many layers of other stuff that were on them.
First car, first impressions:
I really like the wheel cleaner and swirl remover. It has a nice long work time, is fairly easy to remove, and busts swirls like a boss. It is not quite as easy to remove as HD polish, but seems to cut really well.
The car wax with polycharger is a really nice wax (part sealant too I guess), that is incredibly slick once applied. Not sure about durability, but the looks are fantastic. My wife and I went out for the evening after I got the car ready and it stood out by a longshot because of how glossy and reflective the paint was.
I did have a bit of trouble removing the product, but in fairness I gave it barely enough time to cure, and it was very cold out. Probably should have doubled the cure time in order to make the product easier to remove.
Wheel cleaner: 9/10 rating. Easy to use, made the wheels look great, what more could be wanted in a wheel cleaner?
Swirl remover: 8/10 rating. This is a really good rating, considering HD polish, which is the only polish I have ever used that I would rate 10/10, is only slightly better. And that opinion is only based off of two uses of Turbo Wax swirl remover, whereas I have used HD Polish on hundreds of vehicles. Why the 8? Removal was a bit harder than Polish, and the smell was somewhat undesirable. Call me overly critical, but after the wonderful grape smell of Polish I am a bit spoiled.
Car Wax with Polycharger: 8/10 rating. Great looks, extremely slick, but unknown durability. I only deducted a couple of points because the product was a bit hard to remove, but some of that might have been my application process (red HD app pad), and curing time. This might be knocked up a point if I find my process was at fault, which was entirely possible.
I also detailed a F-150 for a regular client that had horrible swirls. They were not paying for much so I decided to give Swirl Remover another shot using a 5 inch orange cutting pad. I spread the remover at speed 4, and polished at speed 6, moderate to heavy pressute

After polishing:

Swirls after, I could have done a full correction on this vehicle with the right amount of time:
Not bad for one section pass per panel. Really nice product.
Again, thanks to Juan for sending me these nice product, I look forward to doing a full review on the interior products as well.
