Review: Lake Country Wash Wedge

Introduction:

When it was first released I was very interested in this wash media just on looks alone. I am a person who has a passion for the microfiber chenille wash mitts as they have been great to means the paint that I do work on. When I saw this wash wedge I was interested and skeptic at the same time.

Product Description:

The Lake Country Wash Wedge is an ingeniously designed gold foam wash sponge that features cross-cut and slotted grooves for safe, effective dirt removal. Constructed entirely out of premium gold foam, Lake Country’s softest foam, the Wash Wedge pampers your vehicle’s delicate finish to ensure the paint remains swirl and scratch free after every wash. Comfort-grip neoprene foam handle makes the Wash Wedge easy to hold on to, even with soapy hands.

As with any wash media you should always wash from the town down and with the 2 bucket method. The buckets should also contain the grit guards to trap all the dirt at the bottom of the bucket.

Test Subject:

2014 Tesla Model S

I first started by washing the wheels and wheel wells then moved to the paint. I then gave the car a full foam bath to foam and lift away heavy dirt and debris that was on the paint. I then took the foam wedge and gave it a nice dunk in my wash bucket and the first thing I noticed was how much water this wedge holds very very impressive. I started washing with the roof, front windshield, and the rear window. The wash wedge went across the areas with ease and had no discomfort holding the wedge. Since the foam has cross grooves it made it very easy for the foam to spread out and cover more area as it was being used. I then moved to the hood and trunk and put this to work on the paint. The wedge moved across paint effortlessly trapping all the dirt in the foam fans.

When I was rinsing out the wedge I noticed how easily it released the dirt from the foam it self which is a hug he plus in my book.

I finished the car by working my way down to the bottom.

Pros:
Softer than I ever expected
Easy to hold dry and wet
Holds lot of water
Releases dirt easily

Cons:
None so far!

Summary:

The Lake Country Wash Wedge has changed they way I look as foam wash medias. I think Lake Country hit a huge home run on this and for the price its a no brainer. If you haven't tried this out or are against foam wash medias like I was then I encourage you to give this a try. I think it will change you like it have me.

Hope you enjoyed!

Great review! Iv'e been eyeballing one of these for quite a few weeks. Now this gives me a reason to go out & get it. If I don't like it i'm only out 13 bucks so hey why not.

Thanks for the review. I have used sponges and they always rinsed easily and easy to inspect to double check. I have primarily used them on lower body panels.

Good review. Any concerns with the handle part hitting the car? I thought of that with the photo washing the mirror.

nice review. i picked one of these up a few weeks ago and i used it this morning and it's pretty awesome. my hands didn't get as wet and cold as when using a mitt. i really like having that handle on there.

i'll have to admit this thing worked better than i was expecting, kinda want one for doing wheels now-they need to make one in a different color so i dont ever get them mixed up in the future

Thanks and I dont think even if the handle hit the paint it wuld do anything as its a noeprene handle and should be fine

Nice review, I had no idea it had that many little sponge fingers from just looking at the pictures on the autotopia store.
I was surpirsed as you were when I saw it in person.

I agree something a bit smaller and maybe a little more ridgid for the wheels.
