First Impressions: FedEx delivered this stuff to me about an hour ago and it came in a well packed box with lots of styrofoam. I paid $21.25 + $7.46 FedEx ground shipping, so it equates to around $.22 an ounce. It comes in a very sturdy clear plastic bottle and it is a lavender color with a very fruity almost candy-taffy-like smell. It has a heavy liquid consistency like orange juice.

My Method: Since I'm home during the summer, my truck stays garaged most of the time and it's been very dry lately so I haven't had to deal with anything worse than the occasional puddle. The Chemical Guys website says that you can dilute this product 2:1, but I wanted to see how far I could push it so I did 1:1 in a cheap spray bottle I got at Wal-Mart (very nice though, because it has ounce graduations on the side to 24oz).

Usage: As I stated before my truck hasn't had to deal with much as of late, so I tackled the puddle residue on my fenders and my windshield.

Not much, but a good place to test the lubricity of the QD/WW. I used a white Vroom microfiber towel and did a half spray on it, then the other half on the area to be cleaned. With very light pressure I gave it a wipe and the dirt cleaned off, then I flipped the towel and buffed off the remaining product.

As you can see, it provides enough lube for the MF to pick it up safely.

And here's the result:

I'm not really going to tell you guys that there wasn't any micromarring left because I honestly don't know. As far as I can tell, the product provides plenty of lubrication to safely remove dirt from the surface, and it didn't cause any serious harm and it left a nice shine from the 1X carnauba.

I don't plan on using this stuff on my truck if its seriously dirty; it'll mostly be for wiping it down everyday when I'm back at school this fall. It should also help when I go to a car wash and give everything a good pressure wash so I can follow up with this stuff to get it clean and shiny again. Since I'll be diluting it 1:1 each time I refill the bottle, it'll cost me approximately $.11 per ounce I use on my truck, and I figure I'll use at most 4 per session. It worked equally well on my windshield and on the chrome trim around my grille. Cleaned and left no streaks..what more could I ask for?

Diluted or full strength, Chemical Guys PRO-DETAILER + 1X Carnauba is a great deal for anyone that uses quick detailer or waterless wash frequently. I didn't have any problems ordering, and they seem like great people to do business with.

Please discuss this product as its own entity.

I am confused on what QD to get as well. Can anyone compare the other 2-3 quick detailer like products that CG's offer? I ran out of UGE and need something to replace it.

I also bought this product but i diluted it 2:1 and I had good results. I havent tried any other waterless washes so i cant compare it to anything

I personally would not dilute it if using it as a waterless wash-road dust is somewhat abrasive and you need all the lubrication you can get. Using as a QD after washing is a different story tho.

I have used One Grand Detail Spray, Adams Detail Spray, Poorboys QD, Poorboys S&W, and to me the CG w/Carnuba beats them hands down. There is a CG Extreme Synthetic Detail Spray that does not contain Carnuba that works equally as well.

I forget where I posted, but the CGDS w/ Carnuba was used cut 50/50 with distilled water after I drove my car through the rain. It cleaned and protected the finish from marring while suspending the dirt/solids. I was very impressed. These are now my go to WW/DS. And, dont forget to shoot some of either product on your car just after you washed it, but before drying for some added shine/gloss.

So my advice is if your sitting on the fence needing a DS, give the folks at Chemicalguys.com a call and place an order. If by some odd chance it does not meet your criteria, they offer a 100% gaurantee refund.

Where do you buy this? And what is the difference between this and meguires quick detail? (I haven't ever used anything else.)

Meguiars Quick detail is a quick detail. It is to make your paint shine better and put some protection on it but only for a couple days. It would be used as prep for a car show too. CG as I understand it, is sort of like a quick detail spray like meguairs quick detail but it is designed to remove little dirt and dust off the paint, windows, even wheels, without harming it. It is an alternative to washing if your car is not that dirty basically.

from there instuctions on useing this product

As a Waterless Carwash:

"3 Professionals, Detailers and Our customers have found and recommended that the product works better when it is mixed 2 (parts Product) to 1(Part Distilled water), or 1 to 1 with distilled water. Try it for yourself and you decide."

I was sold on the Pro-Detailer a long time ago but for the Detailer looking to find great products my advice is start of with thebasic: $18

Spraywax/Quick Detailer product they have. You may find it outperforms your expectations. I keep the new Chemical Guys Synthetic Detailer on hand for final wipe downs and at all the shows, honestly all the Chemical Guys QD/Spray Wax products are top quality.
