Reusing original PC pad?

I'll be leaving soon and don't want to spend too much on buffer accessories for my PC. Can I reuse the pad that came with the 7336sp for different products. I originally used it for 3M swirl remover, but what if I were to step up to Finesse It II and then wash the pad, then reuse the pad for the swirl remover, then wash the pad really good and apply AIO with it? I know people don't like the pad, but it worked great for most of my swirl marks, and the backing plate is the same as the meguiars plate.

You should use a separate pad for each product you are planning to use. There is the possibility that the chemicals used in one formulation can have an adverse effect on another product.

Pads are cheap...paint jobs aren't!

Richard Griot suggests that you do not use the pc pad over with other products. You should buy the Griots Garage detail handbook.

That is all the book talks about

It is all about the pc buffer

I have washed pads and stepped up or down one notch without problems - but I would not going from a fairly abrasive product to somethg much less - i.e., don't ever wax with something that has been used with FI-II.Machine washing the pads takes some life out of them - the velcro backing will begin to shrink/separate - so in the long run it is probably better to keep them separate anyway. I mark them with a sharpie.

Use a pad dedicated to 1 product (or similar class of product). You would be looking at a much higher chance of doing damage to your paint if you did otherwise.
