Resurrection Detail by Sinner5

This car was a work car that sat for a while and probably hasn't been washed in since it left the dealer. My boss asked me to see if I could clean it up a little so we can ship it off to another office, where someone else would probably trash it. It was done on my day off, at my own expense, and no compensation for the work. Needless to say, I wasn't getting into any real detailed work or using any of my expensive products. It was done with items that were laying around the garage. Only the paint was being worked on so please don't slam me on the attention to detail. I think that the paint came out pretty decent.

Process was:

2 bucket wash method with dawn to give it a good cleaning

clay

PC with LC yellow pad and MPP

PC with Megs yellow pad and Megs cleaner wax

I opted out of the final wax since it was getting late.

HUGE thanks to DJ JonnyV for helping set up the thread since my computer is doing wacky stuff.

Considering that truck isn't THAT old the paint was in really crappy condition. Even with neglect it's surprising that the paint was in that bad of shape. Do you know if it was factory paint or was it some cheap repaint? Becuase if that was factory paint....Ford needs to do something about its paint durability.

Yea, it was factory paint. The vehicle had been REALLY neglected for a long period of time. It also has been in the vicinity of the ocean which may have helped trash the paint even more.

Pretty much the whole office, including myself, thought the same thing. "Wait, that car is black?? I thought it was blue"

Looks more like neglect than bad factory paint to me. That's also supported by the fact that a little detail work could bring it back.

Wow I thought that was blue when I first saw it. I'm shocked that there was even anything to work with. I had an Expedition just like that and it was a tank. I hated it. Still can't believe I was driving it up untill September.
