Hi all , I recently purchased a new Inferno Red Tinted Pearl Coat
chrysler minivan. My van was only a month old when I was following a dump truck on the freeway when his load emptied onto my van. Now the company gave me the go ahead to get the front bumper and the hood repainted but on a condition that I go to there bodyshop. I had no problem with this because they did agree to pay for the damage. Well here is my problem, when I went to pick up my van from getting repianted, I noticed alot of swirlmarks in the hood. I told the gentleman who I was dealing with and he also agreed. So I brought the vechile back in again to get it polished but nothing was accomplished becasuse I still have the marks in the hood. I do work at the plant where this van was made at and I asked the guys who are in charge of fixing the scratches that occur throughout the plant about this paint. They told me that this is the hardest paint to fix and that no body wants to work on it . They also told me that it doesnt take much to burn through the clearcoat and that they autobody shop either went through the clearcoat or they didnt polish it properly. Now, I was curious if anyone could help me out on what I should do next. Should I bring it back and demand they repaint it or shall I ask them to repolish it. I also could call the trucking company and demand to go to another business. Also maybe someone could give me some tips i could give the bodyshop on how to rid my van of these marks.
Thanks for the help,
ian
