Repaint problem!

About two years ago my trucks paint was keyed 360 pretty bad , So I had it repainted OEM black with a touch of blue pearl came out very nice. So here's the problem, 6-7 months after the repaint I notice every key scratch appearing through , like some sort of indent but under the clear. Any ideas what could of caused this to happen? I was told by a friend that the prep was bad and the product used had shrunk. I plan to take it back to the shop, but want to educate myself first.

It's hard to capture with a camera , but very noticeable in person. Basically above the light is what I'm talking about.

Imagine that around the whole truck every panel. Im kinda hesitant to go back to the same body shop for the repairs but they have been paid by my insurance $5800 already, And they took about 7wks the first time and can't really afford to be without my truck for that long again!

The filler they used could be failing? Can't believe you wouldn't have noticed this prior??

Regardless, this has to be refinished to correct. That means that this will now be the 3rd layer of paint that this vehicle will now have which is not permitted per I-CAR or paint manufacturers standards. It's just too thick and is not a good repair. It will need stripping and that means alot more work involved then just a simple respray. Good luck. I hope the shop stands behind their work. Keep us posted on the outcome. They should also give you a rental vehicle due to their mistake.

IMO, They probably used a glazing putty to fill the scratches, but the scratches were too deep for putty. Glazing putty is not catalyzed, so it sometimes continues to shrink for months after application if applied to thickly and this happens. They should have either sanded and feathered the scratches better, or used a catalyzed filler to fill them.
