Alright I've searched this and I came up with deferring opinions. If you have your car or part of it repainted at an aftermarket body shop and Its not able to be baked, how long before you can use a sealant or wax?

And how long before you can wash it?

I've heard wait 30 days to wash and 60 days to wax. Then I read in a thread it only takes 36-72 for the paint to cure. So does someone want to chime in and pull this apart for me:) . Thanks in advance!

Most of my car was repainted last Thursday - Friday, and by recomendation from the painter and other info I've found on forums, Saturday I washed it and started wetsanding and polishing it.

As a last step I used Megs #80 Speed Glaze, I'll not wax or seal until a month or so.

The wax or sealant times can vary based on a number of things. However, you can wash and polish right away, no waiting required.

What BradE said :xyxthumbs In fact, the shop will often have washed/polished/otherwise done something between the time they painted it and when it gets picked up.

Generally, you should wait a minimin of 30 days, and for non-baked paints, 90 is safer. They baked the deer-repair paintwork on the S8, and I still waited 90 days.
