Renewing velcro on a pad that is dead.

I ordered a 7'5" LC Durastrand pad 3-4 years ago but only used it 4-5 times. The Velcro on the back has stopped working. I don't see how since there are still fibers. It refuses to stick my my backing plate any more. Other pads I have brought before the LC Durastrand still work fine.



Is there a way to restore the velcro? I have brushed the velcro with a tooth brush and other rough brushes to see if I can get the fibers to stand out more, but nothing helped. I don't want to let a good pad go to waste :( .
