Removing Wax/Sealant from unpainted plastic

Hey guys, I was just wondering if there is any way to remove wax or sealant from unpainted plastic. I applied Autoglym's Super Resin Polish and topped it with Carnauba wax and some got on the plastic base under the windshield wiper blades. I've tried cheap bumper care products but they provide just a temporary fix, anything to completly remove it? Thanks in advance.

poorboy's trim restorer will fix that. Maybe even an isopropyl alcohol rub to strip the wax will work, but i don't know how the alcohol will affect the plastic.

I'm pretty sure he means that he's got some wax residue on the plastic that he didn't intentionally put there, and it's probably staining the plastic.

But yes, I've used AIO + sealant on plastics before, and it works great. But not all LSPs will work on plastic.

Hi guys, since we are on this topic, any idea how can we remove those wax residue on those porous plastic trims. I believe AIO will make it worse, right?

i use adams V.R.T. over it and it covers it and leaves a black finish. Not sure if the wax comes back because i've never had any customers complain.

You can use WD40. Just apply some to the affected area with a cloth and then use a soft bristle brush to gently scrub. You can do this before you wash your vehicle and then simply wash and rinse thoroughly.

I have found nothing that could beat Eagle A2Z wheel cleaner when it comes to removing wax and polish from plastic trim. And god knows, I've tried enough other tricks.

I second the wheel cleaner tip.

I sprayed some on, agitated with a brush, then wiped with a microfiber..came right off

Trim Restorer also protects the plastic at the same time, so it's a one-step method of removing the wax stains + protecting the plastic.
