Removing tiny "sparkles" on windshield?

I have only 300 miles and two weeks on my new car. This morning for the first time I turned into the sun and noticed these. I live in Chicago so the car hasn't been through any dust or sand storms or even any major construction areas. I hand washed the car once with Zaino car shampoo and lambswool mitt, dried with a MF towel and cleaned glass with the German product sold here and MF towel.

Any thoughts on what these might be and if I can get rid of them?:nixweiss

Late edit re: Jngrbrdman reply

I did wash the car in the alley, the only time the car has spent outside other than on the road. It is in my garage overnight and a covered parking garage during the day.

They could be sap spray dots. Feel your windshield after you wash it and see if it feels bumpy. You could clay off the dots or use a sap remover. If its not tar then they are probably chips in the glass that either need to be polished out or have the whole windshield replaced. Somehow I doubt that can be the case after only 300 miles of driving. Its probably sap.

Is the glass smooth? Can you feel any contaminants or defects on the surface? As DFT suggested, try some detailer's clay. Else you might need to polish it.

My car has those every morning here in Louisiana. Almost looks like a very, very fine misting of something dry. They are from tree sap in the air. Mine come off with just a wash or even a high pressure rinse (they are also on the paint, making it feel like it needs clayed). QD seems to just smear it on the paint, so the car sees a lot of quick washes or rinses.

Have you tried glass cleaner? They work on mine, but I have to use it liberally and turn the towel often or else they smear on the glass, too.

If the clay doesn't work try #0000 steel wool. I had a problem like yours on the inside of my windshield. I think it got there from the body shop.
