Removing swirls from chrome?

My '69 MG has chrome bumpers and trim. They are generally in good condition but the bumpers have light swirls on them, which is frustrating me...

Can anyone provide proven advice on whether its possible to polish (machine ideally) swirls from chrome or not? I have read conflicting opinions and am aware chrome is both very hard and very thin.

Any advice on products and techniques would be greatly appreciated as I dont have any pieces that I can use as a test.

Many thanks

M105 took the swirls out of my chrome trim. White pad worked worked perfectly for me, I'm sure the orange pad could have removed even more. But like paint, you have to know what you should chase and what to live with.

Definitely M105, works wonders on chrome. I have actually followed in up with M205 as well with fantastic results. You'll be amazed.

thanks guys - dont have M105 but will try some Optimum compound II then and see how it does, perhaps with some OPII to finish it.

Its all going to be sealed with IP100 by machine, for mega long life protection, but I want it as good as I can get it first :D
