removing sticky residue

there's a spon on my vinyl door panel that looks like there was sticker there once. what's the best way to remove the sticky residue that's left?

I would start with WD40 that should lift it without any harm to the color on the vinyl...Goo Gone is also one that I have used but not on vinly so I would issue caution on if it will lift or change the color...you might try a small spot in an area that is not seen easly as a test spot.
