removing spray paint

dried black spray paint about 3 months old over orange base/ clearcoat. large 8" letters across hood. (vandalism)



best way to remove? I was thinking trying goof off/acetone with a cotton cloth



maybe followed with clay



then yellow cutting pad and 3m fine cut

I'd try just polishing first before you try a chemical cleaner.

cool. i was thinking about that. the sparypaint is usually pretty soft compared to clear, probably come right off with the fine cut

I agree with scott, but I wouldn't use a pad that I planned on using ever again. Me thinks a pad used to remove spray paint would get pretty nasty in the process of doing so, just a thought.
