Removing Residue

I know that you can use a 50/50 solution of Isopropyl Alcohol and water to remove residue so that you can see if you are getting ride of the swirls/scratches.

BUT

If you don't have access to Isopropyl Alcohol what else can you use?

Can you use Methylated Spirits and water in a 50/50 solution?

Your auto paint stores should have a surface preparation solvent like prepsol that should work. If you have a clay bar try that.

good luck

Have you checked a dollar store or pharmacy? This stuff should be available everywhere. (Already at 50% I think.)
