i plan on buffing my car soon
i will be using ssr 1-3 do i need to remove the polish from the car before i move on to a finer polish if so what do you use/do
thanks

Yes, wipe it off with a microfiber towel. Your results will also depend on the aggressiveness of the pads used.

SSR3 is a very stout compound. Are you positive it will be necessary?

:exactly: and that is an interesting description

And don;t forget in this case, use the higher number first, then 1.
Or you aint gonna get the results you want.

I agree. SSR3 is liquid sandpaper or rocks in a bottle. I doubt that you need it.

Start with the least aggressive first, SSR1 on a white (LC) pad. If it doesn't give you the correction that you want, you can step up to a more aggressive pad (orange or PFW) and/or polish (SSR2.5). If you have to step it up, be sure to finish with SSR1.

As mentioned, just wipe it off with a quality clean microfiber towel.

correction i only have poorboys ssr1 ssr2.5 and regular poorboys polish i have 2 white 2 orange and 1 black and blue pad

whats a good plan of action on polishing my car with these supplies

i think i read someone using alcohol to wipe in between polish

:)

IPA wipe downs: they don't "have" to be done, but they only take a minute and they will give you an accurate assessment of the paint. If you want to use the IPA, you could just wait until you are done polishing and then wipe the surface down before applying your LSP. It will make sure that the surface is completely clean and that nothing interferes with the bonding of the LSP to the surface, which will give you better durability.

SSR2.5 with the orange pad ..speed 5+
one or more passes depending on the swirls needing removal.
SSR1 with either white or black pad ... pad will depend on how clear the finish is after SSR2.5 ;)
....again speed 5+

then ....

glaze ... wax/ sealant or both :)
