Removing PB's Wheel Sealant Residue

Seeking the perfect shine
I applied a few coats of Poorboy's Wheel sealant to my Bronze Gram Lights. Granted, it didn't do much for the look of the wheels. The finish is not a very glossy one, so there wasn't much gloss to start with. It's somewhat of a rough surface on the face of the wheel. I have some residue present on the wheels that I did not notice was there when I installed the wheels. (That happens when you do that stuff at night :P)

There is some raised lettering on the wheel where residue is present. What method would you use to remove this residue? Also, in some of the rough spots on the powdercoat (I BELIEVE it's powdercoat) there is also residue present. Any ideas on how to remove this? Any ideas on how to keep this from happening in future applications.

I WILL say this....the WS has made the wheels easy to clean! S&W and the brake dust wipes RIGHT off!!!!! :bigups

Yep... if you have a some Spray & Wipe, spray that on the areas... let it sit for a few seconds and use the tooth brush to remove.

Sounds like great advice. I've found that the wheel sealant doesn't do much for the shine - whether on chrome of painted wheels, but in my case I apply it as a topper to polish/cleaner. It does seem quite durable and is a very good protectant.

Take care,
Jerry

I actually was impressed with the added gloss PB's wheel sealant gave. I've used it on Clearcoated wheels and on plastic wheel covers. Worked well on both! :bigups
'Course, that's just my results in my environment. YMMV.

PB's Wheel Sealant Gloss

I put new brakes on the back of the street rod so today I pulled the drums to paint them (getting ready for NSRA Knoxville). While I had the wheels off I took the opportunity to wash the tires and rims (inside and out), then polish the American 5 spokes (both inside and out), apply Poorboy's wheel sealant, and then put BnB on the backside of the tires.

I've used the wheel sealant before on our daily drivers and really like it, but I really didn't think anything would make these mags look better than they do with a chrome polish (I applied it mainly for protection), but they look great! The silver inside the chrome spokes really pops! Now I'm gonna have to pull my fronts and do the same tomorrow.
