Removing Old Wax

I did the ultimate sin and waxed without taping off the rubber trim so I had to get them off today. I used the pink eraser which I'm sure everyone knows. This other one I haven't read anyone else using it unless I missed it. Anyway, I was using Armor All orange wipes for my door. (Because of the surface on the Z's door these are the only ones I've foubd to work well) Anyway, I also had so old wax by the A pillar so I used the wipes to wipe it off. To my surprise it actually came off and it left the black rubber shiny. I went over to the other black trim where I used the eraser and it removed what the eraser couldn't get off. This is definately a better way of removing it because it doesn't make a mess plus it leaves the surface nice and clean. :D Has anyone else tried this???

Since I use S100 I don't have to worry about wax on the rubber trim but that is good to know in case I try something else...which is only a matter of time.

What part of Nashville are you located? I work in the Cool Springs area and live in Franklin. We could probably swap out some products or try different things. I have several if you are interested.

Hi Guys,

Keep an eye on the rubber to see if the Armor All really lasts. Usually, a silicone based dressing will just "cover" the white left behind by a polish.

It will look good for a while, then after a few washes, the dressing will be gone and the polish stain will appear.

Let us know if the wipes really did work.

Just what I was gonna say.

Pirating thread a little...

I'm in Nashville too. Are either of you 2 professional detailers? An autobody shop screwed me, and now I have tons of a deep swirls that I'd like mechanically removed.
