Removing Marks from 3M Ultrashield?

I had the 3M Scotchcal[X-Pel] installed on my car and I have noticed several with one major squeechey[however you spell it!!] mark left on the clear plastic shield from when it was installed. Can these marks be eliminated with a hand electric buffer? If this 3M material is scratched, can these scratches also be buffed out?
 
The stuff supposed to have a "clear coat" on it. At least that's what I remember from the 3M site. My installer said you could polish it like paint. I'd check with 3M first.

Did you use this process to eliminate scratches on the plastic? I polish my plastic but these rough marks will not come out with hand polishing so I thought an electric buffer might work.
 
My 10 year old son cleaned the headlights this winter with a squeegee all the salt and sand left scratches in plastic and megs polish removed them.
