Removing LaminX Films?

So I've had a LaminX film installed on my headlights for a few years and love it, but I feel it is now time to replace it, plus I would like to remove some imperfections on the actual headlight that are bugging me. Has anyone removed these and has any advice on doing so? I don't wanna remove the UV coating on the headlight, and I hear these leave residue, so is goof off the recommended approach? Also, if removing these films does remove the UV coating, should I apply Opticoat to it in order to restore the coating?

As for removing the defects on the headlight, I know I can just polish them out, but as for reapplying a new LaminX film, will there be any issue regarding polishing oils left on the headlight from defect removal?
