removing dealers decal

When I took mine off..I used a hair dryer....heated the sticker and took a plastic razor blade and caught a corner and pulled it off while heating it...worked like a champ....some have used a heat gun..but thats tricky..they get real hot...lol....hair dryer worked fine...and after you remove clean any glue residue off with a polish or bug and tar remover

yes..if it is a emblem type dealer logo..use some fishing line and cut through the foam adhesive backing....wear gloves..the line will cut your hand also...do a sawing motion and work it from one side to the other...and then clean off glue with wd-40 or some tar remover

but if just a decal type...do as I posted above...

You may want to try just using your fingers instead of a plastic blade to avoid scratching. Just slip on a rubber/latex glove and no problems when using a heat gun.

What kind?

I had those bubble vinyl sticker thingies... one piece... came off with a hair dryer, finished up with a BIT of goo gone.

My sister's car had those annoying little letters... individual letters (looks like its "painted" on). Came off the same way, but requires a LOT more patience, since you have to carefully get at the edges of EACH letter. Same thing, a lot more time.

But yea, in these cases, a hair dryer/heat gun is your friend.

also... take your time. You may have to heat up, loosen a little of the sticker, then heat more, etc. Don't try to rip it all off at once if it doesn't want to come up.

And try not to hold the heat gun/dryer too long on one spot because the paint can pretty hot.. I say that so you don't end up burning yourself :D (which has almost happened to me a few times :o )

Heh heh, with any luck it won't be covering anything nasty. I removed a big dealer emblem from the Blazer's hatch lid, only to find it was covering some hideous paint chips from where a previous emblem must've been removed with a screwdriver

I just got done removing it with a hair drier.......it was very easy and took like 2 minutes, I got my nail under it and slowly puled it off with the hair drier still blowing on the area where i was peeling, it came out perfect....just went over the spot with a little scratchX.....now I just got to let the wax dry

thanks again everyone for the info,

Ryan
