Remove "Thick" Dirt Caused by Rustproofing

i'm wondering how the rest of you canucks get rid of the "thick" dirt that gets accumulated around the edges of some panels due to the rustproofing we do in the fall



i usually have to wash and scrub REALLY hard to get rid of it.. this of course causes swirls on my SOFT black honda clear!



is there a better way or is this something i have to live with?
 
Not a Canuck ;) but I'd soften the undercoating with a solvent until it's loose enough that you can wipe it off very gently. I'd probably use AutoInt/ValueGuard's New Car Prep. I've used this approach to clean dirty undercoating off a lot of vehicles, works great.
 
After we send cars out for rustproofing, I usually spray the whole car down with a mild degreaser (CarBrite 10/10/10 http://carbrite.com/servlet/com.ebiz.ecom.search.ResultsPublic?st=SUB&catcd=degr&loc=Degreasers) let it sit for a minute or 2 and then power wash it off. With the vehicle wet I proceed to soap it and wash as normal. The vehicle is then clean enough to do paint seal (if the customer purchased it).



This stuff is great also to just spray on a rag, and wipe old grease out of door jambs, trunk, engine bay, etc.
