Remodeling question / advice

We're finally getting the bug and the time to get back to remodeling our house. Our next steps are paint, carpet, and tile. We need to paint/refinish some trim work and paneling along with painting the walls.

For you builders, contractors, or experienced DIY'ers out there, I'm curious about your recommendation for process order. Is it better to get the painting done before or after the tile work?

Always paint first, it easier to touch-up paint after you tile or carpet without the fear of spilling a lot of paint on it. If you are installing new baseboard, paint it first and it goes down after the tile.

I think most contractors do it last so the painter only needs to come once when it is all done and not deal with fixing mistakes by others since it comes out of the contractor's pocket.

Before for sure. They won't have worry about drop clothing the floor. If you hire a professional painter you should be good if you wanted to do the tile work first just make sure they are insured.
