Reintroducing myself

Hey everyone,

Im Seth and I live in St. Louis.

I made an intro thread here back when I first got in to detailing but I never did anything past that.

But I frequent detailing forums a lot more now so I'll be sticking around and asking/answering questions as much as I can now.

If you are also on L2D or DB, I'll probably recognize you, so say hi.

I have a ton of products and equipment which I am usually happy to trade samples of and I am working on a massive car soap thread on L2D that I can post up my reviews so far.

Not sure if there is a "present your detailing collection" thread on here, but here is a photo I took a little while ago...

I hope to be a good contribution to the community as every detailing forum I have been on has been respectful and classy.

:welcome: to Autopia DirtyWe RX

That's quite the collection you have there...

Thanks guys!

I just read one of the welcome threads started by Autopia Expert. Ill answer some of his questions if I havent already answered them.

1. How did you wind up at Autopia?

-Just googling detailing forums and hearing the name of this one on a couple different forums

2. What do you like most about detailing?

-I enjoy the, "That looks good" from the customer, but I aim for the "Is that MY car?!?! It looks brand new"

3. What are your favorite products/processes and why?

-I have a "detailing fetish" for car soaps. no idea why, I have a ton of them and post reviews and videos using them

4. What's your dream car and why?

-My dream car? hmm, Audi Quattro rally style!

5. What's the best thing you learned on Autopia?

-Still kinda new, so still poking around

6. What are some of your other hobbies and interests?

-I have an 02 WRX that I RallyX and I also volunteer for the 100 Acre Wood and Perryville rallys. I was the co-driver for the 00 car this past 100AW.

7. Do you have any pets? If so, types, names, pics.

-I have a dog. His name is Okie and he is a Bernese Mountain Dog

8. Name three secret techniques that you think you should share to fellow Autopians.

-Im sure I have more to learn than I have to offer for now.

9. Where are you from and where do you live now?

-I was born and raised in St. Louis, MO.

10. What was you first car and what got you interested in keeping cars perfect?

-My first vehicle was a 1993 Dodge 250 full size van which was a story in itself with how rigged it was. The first car I purchased myself was my WRX

11. What motivates you to detail?

-Working alone to give me time to myself and to think.

12. Would you ever pay someone else to detail your car?

-BWAHAHAHA... only if someone vomited in it.

13. Does detailing run in the family at all, or are you the only normal one?

-Everyone in my family works in a hospital or used to work in a hospital. Im the ******* child.

14. What is your favorite part about detailing?

-The beer I crack open when I am done.

15. If detailing is a hobby for you, would you like to do it full time, or do you feel that it would take the fun out of it?

-I wouldnt mind doing it full time as long as I had the clientele to keep myself supported.

So I see the picture of your collection and all that comes too mind is.... "Holy ****!" lol. That is quite a collection. I think you might have one of everything. Must make choices of getting stuff done difficult.

Jeez, is that your garage or an aisle in the detail supply supermarket? Awesome collection! And a pretty good way to spend several thousand $$$!

Thanks! I dont have one of everything, and thats not necessarily my end goal (tho it would be nice lol). But i do see it as a great opportunity to do comparisons between products as well as the occasional trade here and there.

It is, in fact, my garage.... well, my parents garage. But they dont seem to mind as long as I keep their vehicles clean. My personal collection actually dwarfs what I keep in stock to sell lol.

Seth and I are fellow St. Louisians that haven't met yet. But judging by his massive collection I think we have a lot in common to discuss. We certainly have the "Own-more-detailing-supplies-than-you-will-ever-be-able-to-use syndrome! Must be something in this Midwest water!

Glad your back, Seth.

Now, let's talk shampoo! :) :)

Glad to be back Brad.

I'm also glad there is someone around me that has the same syndrome! I have another large shipment headed my way soon.

I'd be more than happy to talk shampoo. I have a review thread on L2D that I'm working on. Maybe I can post up what I have so far in a review section on here

Nice product obsession you have there. Welcome (back) to Autopia! So what is your favorite car soap?

Thank you David.

That's a tough question. I don't know about my absolute favorite, but I would say my top 5 are:

1. 1Z Perls

2. Lusso Autobathe

3. Ultima Paint Guard Wash

4. Wolf's Chemicals White Satin

5. Optimum Car Wash
