Refreshing coating

Working on my daughter`s car, which isn`t around that much since she no longer lives here. I used duragloss coating about a year ago and it seems to be holding up, but I want to put another coat on it while the car is available.

Is it possible to put another coat on the existing coat and have it adhere properly? If so, is there any prep work? It`s my understanding that if I polish it, that will remove the existing coating.

I think you can Iron-X (and Tar-X if needed) and probably a panel wipe (or coating prep wash) afterwards to fully prep for a new coat without removing the underlying.

Others may chime in with additional knowledge.
 
What about freshening things up with one of these new ceramic spray products? Turtle Wax, for example. Or Meguiar`s?

Topsy, do you feel the Duragloss product is still on the job and working? (I have experience with that product.)

I`m not familiar with the Duragloss coating, but I`ve done something similar with CanCoat with success.
 
Thanks for the replies, will give it a try. Duragloss has been decent, Cquartz UK has done a lot better for me.
 
Just did it with cancoat on top of Cquartz. Came out fine.

Get a good alkaline prep soap to give it a good clean. I pre foam and wash with it. Iron X the whole car. Tar X if their is tar. Wipe down with a coating prep type product. 22ple makes a clay for coatings if you feel the need.

But yeah, pretty much what Acura said
