Red, White, and I'm feeling a little Blue..

Well this past weekend while I was working on the Ford Galaxy I talked to my client about me looking at a car to buy and I told him I didn't want to monkey with selling my car and I was just going to trade it in. He told me, if the dealership offers me something I don't like he will take it off my hands for more. Sounded good to me...

Went to the dealership on Monday afternoon and took it for a test drive...it was very smooth, quick acceleration and decent looking interior. After a little talk and the dealer looking at my car they mentioned how well it was taken care of and how clean it was :bigups They offered me $3,500 for my 99 Grand Prix GTP with 141,000 miles on it.

I called up my client, told him he can have it if he is still interested, so I took it to his house and he drove it, his daughter....10 minutes later he bought it for $3,750

And this is what I replaced it with....2004 Grand Prix GTP

If anyone in the Grand Rapids/West Michigan area has suggestions on *good* window tinting shops please let me know...I'm not going to make this cardomain and list all my dream mods I want to add to this car, instead I will just post pictures when they are actually completed ;)

Nice upgrade! :2thumbs:

It makes all that hard work, keeping a car looking new, worthwhile when it comes to the day when you sell it.

The new one has a much nicer interior. I always liked the older GTPs until I opened the door.

How does the new on run compared to your old one?

Thanks for the comments guys! I do like the new interior alot, unfortunately pictures do not do it justice.

Compared to my old one the new one is much quieter in the cabin, *very* smooth shifting, supercharger really gives it that extra boost compared to the 99 and it just seems very planted to the road. I am very pleased with my decision so far, the white will take some getting use to for sure but it is a nice change after having two red vehicles.

Hoping to get a full detail in over the next couple days

Aw man, white? How boring! ;)

haha I am surprised myself...I never thought I would purchase a white car but after I tint the windows I think I will like it a little more. I just couldn't take the upkeep of red..to me it is just as bad as black :)

Congrats on the new ride. It will be a change going from that blingin' red to white, but I'm sure you will make it look great. Be sure to post more pics when it is fully detailed. :)

Congrats.

I've driven quite a few GPs, and I actually like the previous one better. Mostly because of the seats. Also the steering wheel radio controls suck, it goes from too quite to too loud in one push. Other than that the newest gen is a pretty solid car. :D and they are pretty fast too!

I don't think I would ever buy a white car again. My wife and I both had them a few years ago. Of course I wasn't keeping them properly waxed like I will now, and they never saw a clay bar. but I couldn't stand all the rust colored spots from rail dust. I still even get a fair amount on our suv that has gold on the bottom.

Go ahead Josh! :woot2:

It's sometimes bittersweet to upgrade but again it's always a good feeling afterwards.

Congratulations and enjoy the new ride!

Congrats! Nice new car!

For tint shops, I'd recommend avoiding Auto Shade in Grand Rapids - they didn't do too great of a job on my BMW. I've heard pretty good things about The Tint Factory on Division in GR.

Here are a few more pics after a wash and Megs #26 with a AJ-T wipe down and cleaning of the interior (did not do carpets)

*Silvergray - Thank you for the information!

Congrats on the new GP! Those cars have one of the best repair records in the industry and they are sweet lookin' and handlin'. Amazing improvement after your detail too. The paint has depth (which is hard for white) and the interior looks radically better. Enjoy!
