Red mud stains

Does anyone know of a good way or good product to remove red mud stains from painted or metal surfaces. Example: Aluminim wheels, axles, calipers, etc?



I would appreciate any help.
 
All of the actuall mud is gone. Just feeling the wheels, they feel clean.(no grit) But they still have that red tint to them. Some will come off with a scotch-brite pad, but that is not good for the finish.



It basically stained the metal.
 
Frank's Special Cleaner from PRO is designed for cleaning off Red Mud. I have not used any but have seen good review for the product. You can check prowax.com for it. Might have to email them and ask where your local distributor is if they don't ship it to you.



If you can't find it on the webpage ask and I'll post the product number.

Well, I don't think so, I'm not sure. In the Southeast it's know as Red Clay. It stains like crazy. When it's wet, it's extremely sticky and it has been known to suck your shoes off your feet under the right conditions. These are the bad qualities. If you're into dirt track racing, Georgia Red Clay is the best dirt in the country. Add a little water and pack it down with a roller and your ready to race. :D
 
I had some free time so I looked it up.



It is C-84 Frank's Special Cleaner. It is a Non-Caustic all purpose cleaner that was originally designed for Red Dirt.



You will have to email them about finding a local distributor though as it can't be mailed.
 
"Dirt" down South ain't like dirt up North. It has a very high Iron Oxide content which is why it looks reddish brown.



If you get that chemical cleaner, please submit a review so we all can discover how well it works... or doesn't work. Normal cleaners do not work well on Southern clay as they do on dirt from other places.

I hate to bump an old thread but how did this work out for you?  I got the same georgia red clay on the under carriage and engine bay which is hard to get to will this stuff eat through it?
 
Valugard product "A" from the ABC System. mIx 1 part to 8 parts water, apply, allow to dwell for 7 to 10 minutes, agitate and rinse off. Done deal.
