Red 350Z Finished

This car came from a recommendation by someone on Autopia! Thanks. The owner had a detail company do the car and they told him "there's always going to be swirls"....what an answer.

So, I had him bring the car to the house for a 6 hour session. There weren't any deep scratches and I ended up using Pinnacle XMT 2, then XMT 360 for any random stuff. Finally, applied a coat of Meguiar's #21 and this is the result.

He's pretty pleased and will let me know if any spots have been missed. The sun would peek out every now and then, so I might have not caught them all.

Looks amazing. I love Z paint...a joy to work with.

Ps, what edition comes with that hood? Or is it aftermarket?

"...always be some swirls..." I may PM you to find out who that was. Excellent work on a Non-BMW vehicle! I would say you have a repeat customer.

I may break down and bring you the ultimate test next spring: 21 year old white single stage Benz paint, with a variety of swirls, rids, and as yet unidentified defects that so far have laughed at my efforts with an orbital. I love working on the old iron, don't get me wrong, but eventually I would like a clean slate to keep up. White is a forgiving color, but in the right light, all is revealed. :wall

Keep up the good fight. :buffing:

The hood is stock on all new 350Z's. At least every one I see in at the dealership on the ride home from work. That car looks great. Nothing beats a clean red car!!
