Recommended wax/sealant for charcoal metallic paint

What would work for a charcoal metallic paint?

1. The paint is in good condition.

2. I want a deep, dark, wet look.

3. Don't want any organic wax - too much up-keep.

I used Zaino system on this car for about 8 months (3-4 coats).

Very clean/shiny looking. However, it is not very satisfactory - because of the "sterile" look.

(The same Z system looks great on my white SUV - it is very

"sparkly" - can spot my car a mile away.)

Recently, i tried the new NXT (first, hand polished with 1Z metallic). The result is a little darker. However, i am still

not very impressed.

What about AIO + SG.

Or UPP + ???

Or some other weird and wonderful combinations.

By the way, the system needs to work with some kind of QD.

(i am very lazy - my Z6 really keep my car looking quite clean

without doing a lot of work week in and week out).

Thanks!

Have you considered using Blackfire, EX or Four Star, and top with a QD after every wash.....IMO, Blackfire is the best thing going for dark, dark/metallics.....Just top with S100 monthly and youll be trouble free....I cant imagine anything easier !

Thanks for the input.

I also have a feeling that i will need to top it off with some

kind of canuba wax perhaps once in a while.

I will probably just do it on top of the Z system (or the NXT)

that i am currently doing now. I can do some research on

BlackFire (i have heard of them).

I suspect the synthetic is just not going to cut it alone on a

dark color car. Man, i hope this is not a lot of work. :o)

Where do you get S100. Can you get it at Pep Boys? (i don't

recall seeing things like that, there).

How bad is the residue? I did 1Z metallic polish on my car

last weekend - brings back badddd memories.

(Couple of years ago, I used to use the Zymol Cleaner Wax - don't

laugh - on my black S-class - came out quite well. But the dust/residue is terrible - smells delicious, though).

By the way, Mr Regan, i am not sure i am familiar with WC detail products. Thanks.

You claim to not want a lot of upkeep, but you will have to re-wax with S100 every 4-6 weeks. The good news is, S100 is so easy and so quick that you will probably start doing it after every wash, weather permitting. The tiny jar lasts forever as a bonus. I'm on my original jar--I would guess 45-50 applications so far. Not so bad for 15 bones. QEW wash and S100 reapplication, 45 minutes to an hour, tops.

I agree with the comments about BLACKFIRE II. I use the polish and sealent on my black Hemi. I do not top it with S100. It has a deep wet look without the top coat of wax. I apply both the polish and sealent with a pc and remove both by hand using microfiber towels.

I use S100 on my black Harleys after almost every ride. It is very easy to apply and remove. However, I do not believe that it will last even four weeks, especially on black or a dark color that is out in the sun a lot.

I know from personal experience that S100 over a properly prepped surface will bead and retain most of it's look for 3 months, at least in the Dallas area.

For a low maintenance finish, I'd go with AIO/SGx3/UPP. Strip it down every 6 months and start over.

Zaino looks pretty darn good on my steel grey (charcoal)
