As if I hadn't done enough on my own I got my car back from the dealer with the mandatory installed swirls and what looks like some burning on the hood likely from removing the clear bra. Pads were primed with an X and dime/nickle size dots after that. Polish applied around speed 3 and then 6 to work it. I worked the polish until I saw signs of dusting and removed by hand since a bonnet was not removing the polish.
I worked the left side of the hood with IP on a white SFX pad and FPII on an SFX blue pad. It removed some of the marring but the majority is still there. There's also some small pits that look like etching that I could not capture very well with the camera. There's also definite water spots on the roof.
Do I need to alter my technique or perhaps use some cutting pads?

I dug out an almost-ready-for-the-trash orange DAS pad and did 2 more passes on the hood with IP and a pass with FPII. I hadn't been paying attention to which towels I was grabbing and realized that I had been using a buffing towel to remove the polish...and it didn't work very well and apparently marred the surface up just as bad as it originally had been.
After switching to a MF and cleaning up with AIO the swirls are virtually gone. The etching, however, is another matter. There's even an obvious line where the clear bra used to be. At this point, is it safe to say I need some stronger pads? Also..again despite best efforts I can't photograph the etching as it can't really be seen in sunlight.
