Recommendations for creeper seat

GOT PREP?
Does anyone have one that they really like? I am in the market for one. I have seen a few that had "roller blade type" wheels on them, seems that that would work well. I have also sat in the ones that are shaped more like seats as opposed to stools, they were a bit more comfortable.



Any info or links would much appreciated.
 
I have both the style L33 has (mine's the Griot's one with the drawer under the seat) and the one with the round seat and the hydraulic (or is it pneumatic?) cylinder that allows height adjustment. I find I use them both and that any benefits of one seem balanced by benefits of the other. Can't say which one you'll prefer as I don't really know which one *I* prefer :D But the height adjustable one, well, is adjustable, and when you want to be at a certain height that makes all the difference; so if I could only have one it would be the adjustable one.



I myself do *not* like the ones that have back rests on them. I find them less comfortable for actually *working* when sitting on them and I seem to tip over in them more often (when the wheels hit something). But that'll probably be yet another of those personal preference things where nobody can predict which you'll like. Just remember that doing work while sitting on one is different from merely sitting.
 
There was one from Meguiars that was collapsable and it looked real nice. Now I can't find that one anymore and want it so I can fold it up in my trailer.
 
I just use a cheap one with a hydraulic height adjust that I picked up at the local Tractor Supply Company (TSC) store.... I think it was $15 and that was around 3 years ago. I like it :nixweiss
 
I got one last week from Harbor Freight. It was the round seat with a tray and pneumatic height adjustment. Paid $17 for it on sale.
 
I got the cummins brand for 15 bucks. It's good quality, and the best part is it is only about 4 inches taller than a phone book. It is easier to detail up, than detail down for me.

I have the Crafstman creeper seat as well. Craftsman makes two models and I believe I have the more expensive one. I got it for Christmas so I am not sure of the exact price, but I do know they have two models. It has a back on it with a tray underneath for bottles of product/tools. I have been very happy with it. It is just the right height for working on my motorcycle or the lower body panels on a car/SUV.

Its comfortable, a good height and has the base where you can keep your products when you roll around. Its definitly a back saver.

i have one of these. have had it about a year. use it at least every other day and it is holding up well. i weigh 340 pounds so when i say hold up i really mean it. if there was a bad thing to say, it would be that hte casters keep coming loose and must be retightened often, probably about once a month. i just keep the allen wrench in my detail box to tighten as needed.



it sure helps me do my truck!!!

Might be worth the hassle to put some LocTite on those, do it once and forget about it ;)

I am awaiting word from CMA about the actual weight limit on that creeper seat. If it can hold me, I am getting one.
 
My wife got me one that has 3 drawers, a padded seat, and a flip out cup holder.. not sure where she got it though. I use it when doing the wheels, and store some of my brushes in it.

Harbor Freight makes one just like this and its about $16 . It holds 275lbs but it will hold much more and for $16 if it breaks in a year no big deal .:xyxthumbs
