I want to place an order for a new set of pads although mine are currently

almost new and in good condition;

is it me or is the CCS pads are not meant for rotary?

it feels like it is meant more for the PC user.

I want to get the few sets of CCS 5" pads from danase, whats backing plate

would fit it correctly?

Also what none CCS pads I should have?

Thanks for the info guys

PC: THe best pads for PC, IMO, is danase 5" CCS and/or AG LC 5.5" low profile. The 4.75" BP comes right to the edge of the 5" pads, little margin of error. You have to be very careful, if your uneasy about that grab the 3.75. However, I prefer it over the 3.75 BP, the 4.75" applies more even pressure over the pad, either one will work. The nice thing about the 3.75" BP is that you can switch to 4" pads without removing the BP.

Rotary: CCS work great on the rotary, then again, so do the flat and curved LC's. I use the 7.5" LC Curved and 6.5" LC CCS (megs 6" BP). I also use the Edge 200K system which is great on rotary, not so great on PC. Edge is nice because it centers perfectly and they make great Wool Pads. Rotary Pads are a total preference thing.

CCS are perfect for rotary use, I love them so much more than any other type of pad.

LC 4 3/4 or 4 1/2 BP would fit, I just stocked up on every size of the LC backing plates available, those 2 3/4 inch plates for the 4 inch pads are so cute on the big Makita 9227
