Recomendations on Pressure washers

As the title says make me a recomendation... idealy somthing i can use the Foam Cannon with and has a good amount of power and verstility (IE not just car washing) and is at a resonable price.

Thanks!

I use the NorthStar PWs with the Honda GX engines and CAT pumps. I run a larger nozzle orifice, but the PWs have an adjustable unloader valve which also lowers the pressure when you want to use it on cars.

About six years ago I bought a DeVilbiss Ex-Cell pressure washer Model VR2400, which was the least expensive gas-powered pressure washer at Home Depot at the time. The cost was about $300. It has a 6hp B&S engine and puts out 2400 PSI. It's perfect for occasional home use. I have never used a foam gun with mine, but certainly it would have enough power for that. It appears they no longer sell my model, but they have a similar one with a Honda engine now.

My pressure washer still works well and runs like new. I do my best to maintain it with regular oil changes, and I purge the water from the pump (using Karcher Pump Guard) at the end of the season before it gets below freezing.

If your going to use it for a deck, garage floor, siding and etc. I would get at least 2500psi. The ones with Honda engines are a little more money than the Briggs and Stratton engines. From what I've heard, the Honda engine is the way to go. But everyone is entitle to their opinions. Look for one with a resevior. Otherwise you'll have too drag the jug of solution around w/you. Sam's Club and Costco have good deals on them. Saw a 2500psi w/honda engine and 4 nozzles(car, siding, deck and concrete) for $275 a week ago at Sam's.

I think when I buy my next one, I'll look at one of those. Can't go wrong with Honda and CAT pumps right?

Stay away from the cheap Karcher / Simoniz / etc.

I went through 3 pressure washers before finally investing more on a good one.

It has a Honda GX engine and a Comet Piston Pump - cost me $1000 but works like a charm. It's a bit overkill for a car (3200 psi) but I use it fur my impressed concrete driveway/patio - does the job so much quicker! Also - don't just look at the PSI - but the flow rate of GPM which is important for jobs like cleaning driveways / houses / windows.

I bought mine at Princess Auto here in Toronto (Canadian store) - it's really a no name (Power Fist - store brand) but you're really looking at the quality of the Engine/Pump/Hose/Gun/Couplings. It's on an industrial Pressure washer Dolly.

Comet makes good pumps and I believe the one at Home depot uses Comet + Honda GX - last time I checked.

Annovi Reverberi makes good pumps too I believe. Karcher sucks. Can't even find parts later on for a Karcher. All my previous PW were Karcher.

Look at the base components and get the best you can afford - pressure washers are not equipment to buy on the cheap. Water destroys cheap ones very quickly.

Oh, make sure to use the widest nozzle possible for your car - you can destroy emblems / hub caps / loose things easily otherwise. I believe I use the 45degree - green one only for cars.
