recieved old turbine style wheels for my project

need to clean them. these things are horrible, but i dont know where to start with them. once i get them cleaned, they will be sent out to be powdercoated with this color

what do yall suggest to get these all cleaned up and ready for powdercoat?

I can't imagine how much work it would take to remove all that corrosion by hand... Maybe some kind if incredibly power chemical cleaner.
 
Maybe a wire brush attachment on a die grinder, but again, that would take a long, tedious amount of time.
 
The powder coat place won't clean them for you? That thing needs an acid etch to bring it back to bare aluminum.



EDIT: or a bead blast...

They should be sand blasted to prep them for powder coat anyway so I don't see the need to clean them. My powder coat guy blasted my wheels baked them wiped down and then coated. They have held up for over 5 years and still look like new

That's what I'm sayin'...usually those kinds of places are equipped to do whatever prep is necessary.
 
Find a shop with a media blaster and get them done, I don't think you really have another option if you want optimal results.
