Recently Started in the Business - How am I doing?

I recently started a detailing business with a friend of mine. We are college students who are looking to make a few bucks between classes.

One of our first customers was a woman who owns this civic. She was mostly concerned with the interior so the exterior saw a quick wash and dress while the interior got full cleaning including seats and dressing of plastics. We gave her a complimentary engine touch up as well.

How are we doing? Can we call ourselves pros?

Good job for the most part!

PS. Make sure you scrub the pedals with an APC and brush fully, you can still see some dirt in the afters.

Whereabouts are you in Ontario?

I'd say you're on your way. brake pedal could use some attention and the gas and trunk lever. Where the screw is it looks like theres some built up gunk still left there. And also in the engine even though it was just a touch up theres some areas i see that could have been better.

A good turn around though.

Good luck in your business.

Ya, we cleaned the pedals but had to move the car, should have wiped it again for the pics.

I am in either London or Barrie.

I see what you are saying about the area for the key on the gas and trunk. Noted, thanks.

Engine was done for free so we really didn't spend much time on it as coommented.

I guess what some call pro and autopian pro are different though arn't they:woot:

I'd say you're off to a good start for sure.

One thing you did well was give the extra cleaning on the engine for free, if she cares about the engine at all that will definately get you a good referal.

Did you tell her about the engine cleaning before you did it?? Surprise your clients sometimes like that and it can really make the difference for your business.

Nice job.

getting paid=pro.

The work looks great as well!!

lol u.

I know plenty of people in professions that are less than capable and get paid for what they do. There's a difference between getting PAID to do a job, and DOING a professional job.

That being said the OP is well on their way! Great work.

Yes we threw in the engine detail for free. We just opened the hood while doing the walk around upon delivery and suprised her.
