Klassed the car for the first time on Monday. Applying AIO and removal of AIO was very easy. SG on the other hand, was very hard to remove. Application of SG was easy though. I waited at least 20 minutes for SG to cure before buffing out. Using a normal TACS MF towel, it barely removed the SG. Then I used a damp MF towel and it was a breeze. Wiped with damp towel(one pass) and buffed two times with a dry MF towel. I applied 3XAIO and 1XSG. The results were very good. The reflection was awesome. :) It looks great in shade but in the sunlight the colour of the car doesn't seem to look that dark. My car is black and after applying Klasse, the car is very reflective but doesn't have the deep black colour. Guess that is when Blitz comes into the picture to give that deep warm look. When the car is in direct sunlight, I can see that the side panels are rather greasy. Did I not buff all the SG off? I tried to wipe the side doors with a damp MF towel the day after but to no prevail. Any suggestions why this happened? Can 3XAIO and 1XSG be good enough to withstand the winter conditions we get in Canada? Or do I have to add another layer of SG? I can say that Klasse is very easy to work with but adding a carnauba based wax such as Blitz would probably finish the job to give bring out the real colour of the car.

I would recommend another couple of coats of SG. The shine really comes up with the 2nd and 3rd coats. I also like the way a wax topper looks but is certainly not necessary if you are just looking for protection. The layers of SG are not really necessary either if you are just looking for protection. But worth the effort if you want a better look. The greasy look might be from the MF towel. I buff the surface with a smooth flannel cloth after removing the SG with the MF. The next layer of SG will probably eliminate that.

I would try applying another coat or two if KSG, and see what happens. I think you will be pleased with the results. Then top it off with some Blitz and/or Sovergn.

As far as protection wise, AIO 3x is like one layer of AIO, as AIO strips itself. If you want maxium protection, apply layers of KSG and allow it to cure for a day or so, and apply another. Apply Blitz only when you happy with the number of coats of KSG.

In addition to add couple more coats of SG,

I suggest wait a day or more before applying another coat of SG..although this matter is debatable, I found the 24 hour waiting time will produce better result than apply the next layer of SG immediately..:)

Use less but more :)

use less SG in you application but do it more times (layers)

3 to 5 is noticably better, (with a sponge applicator the first coat is the toughest to apply because the sponge is still mostly dry, when the sponge is used more it applies better, smoother, and thinner, so it'll be easier to take off)

Thanks everyone for your suggestions and comments. :) When I applied the SG, I damped the foam applicator with water and squeezed all the water out, then I put a dime size amount of SG on the applicator. The SG went on really smooth. Is it wrong to dampen the applicator with H2O before applying SG to the applicator? I want to apply more coats after a few days but the weather is not good up here in Canada and quite busy. Thanks again everyone. :)

applicator wetness.

Klasse AIO contains a chemical cleaner in which the dampened applicator will help carry this cleaner and make it clean more smoothly and leave less marring. Its like the lubricant for the polish part of AIO.

Now for Klasse SG and a dry applicator. The SG does not have any cleaners and so it does not need the lubricant like for AIO's polishing/cleaning abilities. The SG just simply gets wiped onto the surface and no carrier or lube is necessary other than the stuff in SG.

Hey I might be wrong, but does it defeat the purpose of following instructions from Tim and on the bottles of the Klasse itself?

I've only put on 1 coat of SG. But when I did I used a damp aplicator to do so. The reason was because I was finding it difficult to apply the SG thinly like Don recommends with the dry foam applicator. The touch of dampness helps to glide the applicator much more easily on the surface, thus spreading the SG more evenly on the surface while using less product. If I were to have used more SG than I did, I probably would have not needed a damp applicator, but because I did apply it so thin, I needed that dampness.

Next time I'll do the whole car dry. I'll see what the results are.

Jason, Don, Tim, Beau, Brad, Ron, anybody. In your opinion, will dampening the applicator compromise the effctiveness and integrity of the shine, slickness, and protection that SG gives?

Thanks. Take it easy.

I might be wrong, but my guess would be: since it's an acrylic ,dampening the applicator may disrupt the curing time of KSG..

Langit, good point. Observing the car after applying SG with a damp applicator the shine was very good. Of course, I didn't see the results of SG with a dry applicator. To the human eye, the shine and reflection was astounding. Curing time might be affected if wanting to apply SG in 24 hours time but if left for a few days, then washing the car and applying another layer would be ok. Of course, I'm just taking a good guess. David B. or Ron would have to answer this one. But wouldn't a few days be enough time to cure the SG for the next layer even if the the SG was applied with/without a damp applicator? Unless SG doesn't cure properly with the aid of a damp applicator when applying. I must agree with Bill, that using a damp applicator was very easy to spread SG on the surface of the car. Bill, Leafs need defence. :) But the Mogliny trade was a good one. :) The 2001-2002 Leafs look like the team when Gilmour and Andreychuk led the team and league in scoring that year(forgot which year).

Too old. And they rely on one player to carry them(Yzerman). You saw how they folded up like a cheap suit against LA in last years playoffs after he got injured. Ferdorov is a pure head case. He only plays when he wants too. And how long before Bowman tries to kill Brett(I'm inly playing because of the paycheque) Hull for being selfish? Dominator. More like DomiNOTor. Overrated. And he dosen't have the mental toughness to go all the way.

And yes, the Leafs need defence. Very badly. They need to sign Kaberle. Even he can't save them. Joseph has to be brilliant again. They can't trade for a top notch d-man because they have nothing to give in return. Unless they trade one of their forwards. But then they'd be making a hole somewhere else, and that dosen't make sense.

As for Mogilny, I want to see consistency from him b4 I sing his praises. Like Fedorov, he only plays when he feels like it. That has to change.

My cup prediction: St. Louis vs Philadelphia. Philly wins in 6.

Hockey and car detailing definitely is a good combo. :) Still too early to give predictions. There are always surprises each year in the NHL. Detroit might be too old, Leafs don't have defence etc.... If Mogliny keeps his scoring touch like he did in the first game then we have nothing to worry about in terms of offence. On the other hand, defence is very weak for T.O. If Leafs get far, then defence must step it up a few nothces. Good Luck <strong class='bbc'>T.O.[/b] all teams this year. ;)

My Rangers not looking very good this year either, I feel your pain Bill.

Also ditto what Bill said about the damp app for SG, that was exactly my perception. Seemed smoother going on.

The only thing that worries me about using a damp foam applicator to apply SG is that it may dilute the SG a little. And thus it's not being applied at it's "full strength", if that makes any sense. This would then have an adverse impact on durability and protection.

We'll see how Berg and Erikson progress this year. Erikson was a first round pick of Detroit's. He was highly regarded on draft day. Let's see if him and Berg can finally realize their full potential with the Leafs. IMHO, they are going to have the biggest impact on whether or not we win the cup. If those two can surprise, then so will we.

Here is a 2008 Porsche 997 Turbo and 2010 GT3 just recently comepleted.. This will not be a typical write up with all the steps as I took over 150 pics of the Turbo and I am pooped............
